❤️ Overview

Most Istanbul city tours squeeze into Topkapı and the Grand Bazaar. We built the route differently: we start at Dolmabahçe Palace on the Bosphorus before the crowds, pass through Taksim and Galata, cross the Golden Horn and have lunch at Pino Gare roof restaurant in Sirkeci. The afternoon belongs to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Spice Bazaar, and the day ends on Pierre Loti hill in Eyüp. You keep the same VIP Mercedes Vito and the same driver all day, from your hotel door and back. Choose between two packages: Chauffeured, where our English-speaking driver runs the route and you explore each site at your own pace, or Guided, where a guide licensed by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism takes you through the palace, the mosque and Hagia Sophia.

Your day, stop by stop

Times are approximate and change with traffic and season.

  1. Hotel pickup

Your driver meets you in the lobby of your European-side hotel. You keep the same Mercedes Vito all day, so bags can stay in the car.

  2. Dolmabahçe Palace

We enter the Ottoman palace on the Bosphorus right after opening, before the tour groups arrive. One ticket covers the Selamlık and the Harem. The palace is closed on Mondays.

  3. Taksim and İstiklal Avenue

A short stop at Taksim Square and a walk along the start of İstiklal Avenue and its heritage tram line.

  4. Galata

Photo stop at the foot of Galata Tower. Going up the tower is not part of the program; if you want to, the entry ticket (€30 for foreign visitors) is sold on site.

  5. Lunch at Pino Gare

We cross the Golden Horn over Galata Bridge to Sirkeci. Lunch is a set menu at Pino Gare, the roof restaurant on the 7th floor of the Orient Express Hotel building, and is included in the price.

  6. Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet)

Visited after the midday prayer; entry is free. Shoulders and knees must be covered, and women wear a headscarf. On Fridays visits start after 14:30.

  7. Hagia Sophia

Foreign visitors see Hagia Sophia from the upper gallery; the ticket is €25 per person. The mosaics and the dome are best seen from this level.

  8. Spice Bazaar

Free time among the spice, Turkish delight and dried-fruit stalls of the 17th-century bazaar in Eminönü.

  9. Pierre Loti hill

We drive up the hill in Eyüp. Tea break on the terrace over the Golden Horn in the last light of the day (drinks not included).

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Chauffeured and Guided packages?
Both packages share the same route, vehicle, driver and lunch. In Chauffeured, our English-speaking driver takes you to every stop and waits; you explore the sites at your own pace. In Guided, a guide licensed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism takes you through Dolmabahçe Palace, the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. In Turkey only licensed guides may guide visitors inside the sites.
Are museum entrance fees included?
No, they are not part of the tour price. For foreign visitors Hagia Sophia is €25 per person and Dolmabahçe Palace is 2,000 TL; the Blue Mosque is free. If you add the Ticket pack when booking, we buy the tickets in advance at gate price with no service fee.
Where is lunch and what is included?
Lunch is at Pino Gare, the roof restaurant on the 7th floor of the Orient Express Hotel building in Sirkeci. The set menu is included; drinks are extra. Add vegetarian or allergy requests to your booking note.
Which days does the tour run?
Every day from Tuesday to Sunday. Dolmabahçe Palace is closed on Mondays, so the tour does not run that day. On Fridays the mosques are closed for the midday prayer until about 14:30, and we adjust the order of stops.
How does the price change with group size?
The price is per person and drops as the group grows: Chauffeured is €100 for up to 2 people, €85 for 3–4 and €75 for 5–7; Guided is €160, €130 and €110. Children aged 7–12 get 30% off and ages 0–6 are free. The vehicle seats up to 7.
Why are Topkapı Palace and the Grand Bazaar not on the route?
Adding both to one day would mean dropping the Beyoğlu side and Pierre Loti. We chose Dolmabahçe as the Ottoman palace and the Spice Bazaar as the market because both sit on the route. If you want Topkapı, our 8- or 12-hour chauffeured tours let you build your own route.
Which hotels do you pick up from?
Pickup from any hotel on the European side is included. Pickup from the Asian side costs €20 extra. Just add your hotel name to the booking form.
