Sabiha Gökçen Airport (IATA: SAW) is Istanbul's second international airport, located in the Pendik district on the Asian side of the city. Named after Turkey's first female combat pilot, the airport opened in 2001 and serves both domestic and international flights. It is approximately 40 km from Kadıköy, 50 km from Taksim, and 55 km from Sultanahmet.
